About Desi Recipe
Desi Recipe is a chef training portal built by cooks, for people who are serious about food. Our classrooms are working kitchens, our teachers are chefs, and every lesson ends with a plate that someone tastes and critiques.
01
Desi Recipe started with a simple frustration: talented home cooks and young kitchen staff had nowhere to learn proper technique without leaving their jobs or paying for long overseas courses. We set out to build a kitchen school that teaches professional standards in short, focused programs.
02
Good cooking is learned with your hands. We keep lectures short and station time long. We believe Deshi cuisine deserves the same technical respect as French or Japanese cooking — measured spice ratios, controlled heat, consistent results — and we teach it that way.
03
Our goal is to become the most trusted place to learn professional cooking across Deshi, Asian and international cuisines — a place restaurants call when they need a skilled cook, and where graduates come back to learn their next cuisine.
What guides us
01
Recipes are memorised and forgotten. Technique — heat control, seasoning, timing, knife work — transfers to every dish you will ever cook. Our modules are organised by technique first.
02
Every plate is tasted. Mentors tell you exactly what to change: more acid, less time, finer dice, hotter pan. Kind, direct feedback is the fastest route to professional standard.
03
Deshi dishes are among the most technically demanding in the world. We teach masala sequencing, bhuna, dum and tempering with the same precision any classical kitchen would expect.
04
Professional cooks are judged on hygiene and organisation as much as flavour. Food safety, labelling, storage and station discipline are built into every session.
05
We cap learners per station so mentors can actually watch you cook. You will never be one face in a crowd of forty.
The teaching team
Our instructors are working chefs from restaurant, hotel and catering kitchens. They teach the methods they use on service every day — not textbook theory. Each kitchen is led by a specialist, supported by assistant mentors at every station.
Leads the Deshi curriculum: masala foundations, rice cookery, kacchi and festive menus. Focuses on balance and consistency at volume.
Oversees Chinese and Korean modules — wok technique, dumpling work, fermentation and jang-based sauces.
Teaches classical French foundations, fresh pasta, plating and the baking essentials every cook should know.
Runs one-to-one mentorship, portfolio reviews and career guidance for learners moving into professional kitchens.
The training kitchens
Learners train on the same kind of equipment they will meet in a commercial kitchen. Each station is set up for one or two cooks, with its own burners, prep space and tools, so everyone gets real hands-on time.
Our kitchens are cleaned and inspected after every session. Ingredients are sourced fresh, stored correctly and labelled — habits we expect every learner to adopt from their first day.
